Madonna hires DNA team to sterilise her dressing room

Singer eager to stop people nicking her genetic material, say reports

Any fans hoping to nab a personal memento from Madonna on her current ‘MDNA’ world tour will have no luck ransacking her dressing room – because the pop icon has hired a team to remove any traces of DNA she leaves behind.

According to concert promoter Alvaro Ramos, who is managing the Portuguese leg of the tour, the singer is so paranoid about leaving her genetic material behind that she has instructed helpers to sterilize dressing rooms after she has used them.

The Winnipeg Free Press reports that, with the Queen Of Pop set to arrive in Portugal’s Coimbra City tomorrow evening (June 24), Ramos confided: “We have to take extreme care, like I have never seen for any other artist. We cannot even look at the dressing room, after it is ready, or even open the door.”

He added:

We can only enter after her sterilisation team has left the room. There will not be any of Madonna’s DNA, any hair, or anything. They will clean up everything. In the end it is all to protect her and make her feel comfortable. I do understand it, but it is taken to extremes.

A source close to the singer, meanwhile, added: “She is a perfectionist, and expects the best. But then, at her age and with her status, why shouldn’t she?”

Despite her extreme hygiene demands backstage, Madonna has been less reserved during her live shows – earlier this month (June 8), she sparked controversy during a gig in Istanbul when she pulled down her bra and flashed the crowd one of her nipples. She is set to play London’s Hyde Park on July 17.
